Because registration is tied to the annual Ombudsman fee cycle and some newer or lapsed associations may not yet appear, the registry total at any point in time will differ modestly from broader industry estimates such as CAI's 4,000-plus figure. Both numbers reflect the same underlying market: the registry captures associations that have filed and paid their current-year fee, while CAI's estimate includes all active associations regardless of filing status.
